In quantity, steel cents in average circulated condition sell on eBay for  
10-20 cents each (perhaps $10 per roll of 50), often even with shipping  
included. Good quality uncirculated coins often sell for $5 & up. If  
nothing else, they're a fascinating reminder of a time when copper was  
badly needed for the war effort, & thus steel was substituted for copper  
in pennies. Nickel - which is used to harden steel - was also a vitally  
needed metal, so 5 cent pieces were struck in a mix of silver & a couple  
of other metals during WWII.
